Having trouble reading in French with your child? Having trouble knowing if they are saying the sounds right? See the youtube link to animated sounds.  Your child used these to learn sounds last year and we are reviewing them again this year before moving on to new sounds. Don't know that 'au' in French is an 'o' sound? These videos can help you and your child out! Each video has the words with the focus sound highlighted. As of today (September 26, 2018) we have reviewed 'a', 'au' (sounds like 'o') and 'in', 'im', 'ein', 'ain' (pronouced 'hein') - again, see video link for pronounciations).

Attached below are the lyrics to each of the songs in the youtube link, without the video.

Enjoy!

A team of students from the 4-5 classes upstairs at RES have been working hard to build a catapult for this weekend's catapult launching competition in Chatham. Check out their ingenuity as they build and paint their work in the following photos. The event is at 1 p.m. on the Waterford Green for...

RES Grade 5 (and some Grade 4) students visited the 100 Years of Loss Exhibit on April 26, 2017 at EWG School. The exhibit taught the students about the history of residential schools in Canada. Here are some of the students' thoughts and reactions after seeing this exhibit:

"Even though I am not First Nation I see the pain and racism that was done by the goverment of Canada. All beliefs, religions, and other things should be accepted and respected," - Hayden.

"On Wednesday, April 26 I learned that kids like me were stolen from our families because we are brown and First Nations people! This makes me mad," - Monique.

"Today I felt sad. I also felt grateful at the same time. I learned more about the residential schools and that they were bad. I felt grateful because I'm treated good and the kids that went to the residential schools and those kids were not," Aurora.

"It made me feel really sad and feel bad for the kids who went there," Kiera.
