The RES Chess Club is currently making plans for an outdoor Wizard's Chess Competition. This would involve the students dressing up as chess pieces: Kings, queens, bishops, knights, rooks and pawns. Any parent who is willing to donate costumes (from Halloween or otherwise) and assist with the creation of a HUGE chess battleground for this greatly anticipated event is invited to contact Mrs. Wilson at 523-7152 a.s.a.p.
All interested parents and community members are invited to attend RES' first Playground Committee Meeting on Thursday, April 22 (Earth Day) beginning at 6:30 p.m. in our school cafeteria. Please join us for this meeting and bring your ideas for creating a safe and enriching environment in which our children can grow, learn, dream and play!
Good luck to our nine School/District 16 Chess Champions as they compete in the provincial Chess Tournament in Dieppe this weekend. Remember to think like Kings/Queens, Mates!!

RES' second term Parent/Teacher Interviews will be held on Thursday, April 8th (from 2:30-7:00 p.m.) and Friday, April 9th (from 8:30-11:50). Your Parent/Teacher Invitation was sent home with your child's Progress Report on Thursday, April 1st.
If you are unable to meet with your child's teacher(s) on April 8th or 9th, we encourage you to contact your child's teacher to schedule an appointment that is convenient for both of you; for your information, telephone interviews are also possible if your schedule does not permit you to come to our school during the day.
Bring your favorite teddy bear or stuffed animal to school Tuesday, March 30th. Your bear will be treated to a sleep-over Tuesday evening and be the first to welcome our 2010-2011 Kindergartners at RES' Teddy Bear Picnic on Wednesday, March 31st.
Wednesday, March 31st is RES will be hosting it's 2010 Teddy Bear Picnic. The first group of new Kindergartners will come to our school for 8:30 a.m. and the second group are scheduled to arrive for 10:00 a.m. A gentle reminder that there will be no school for our current Kindergarten students on Wednesday, March 31st.
On Saturday, March 13th, Rexton Elementary hosted the District 16 Chess Tournament. The following Rexton Elementary students were victorious in their quest to be named District 16 Chess Champions and now advance to the Provincial Chess Tournament which will be held in Dieppe on April 10th, 2010:

Rexton Elementary is very pleased to announce that our NED SHOW Assembly will be held on Thursday, March 11 from 9:00-9:45 in our school gymnasium.
Following the NED SHOW, all students and staff will participate in the national BIG CRUNCH Event.
