Merry Christmas:
We received notification this morning, from Education Minister Carr, that December 23rd will be a half day of school for all students in the province. Rexton Elementary School students will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m. this Thursday, December 23rd.
A reminder that the first day of school for Rexton Elementary students is Tuesday, January 11th, 2011.
Seasons Greetings!!
RES' Playground Committee is absolutely delighted to report that our Dream Playground Project is a finalist in the Aviva Canada Inc. Community Fund competition! Special sincere thanks is extended to our numerous dedicated supporters who stuck with us to the very end. The AVIVA grant winners will be announced on January 25, 2011.
We encourage all Rextonians to tune-in to CBC''s Information Morning on Monday, December 20 to hear RES' Dream Playground Committee member, Mrs. Haley Murphy, describe RES' journey to the top of this Canadian challenge!
Students and staff participated in our second annual Anti-Bullying Day on Friday, December 17th. Students/staff wore blue to symbolize how sad (blue) we feel about bullying. Students were invited to attend our Anti-Bullying Assembly during our morning recess on Friday, December 17th; students viewed a video presentation entitled, "What is Bullying". All RES students were given a blue-ribbon to wear on their lapel to commemorate this significant day. Picture above are the students who gave up their morning recess to participate in this year's Anti-Bullying Assembly.
Merry Christmas every one! This Monday, December 20th, the staff of Rexton Elementary will be serving a free, nutritious breakfast to all students.
When students arrive at school on Monday, they will proceed directly to their lockers (to change out of their outdoor clothing) and then make their way to the gym to view a Christmas movie.
Once all the students have arrived (at approxiimately 8:35) we will make our morning announcements.
