All RES parents/students are invited to atttend our 2011-2012 Open House & Frozen Yogurt Social on Thursday, September 15th.This evening will provide an opportunity for parents to meet their child's new teacher and learn about the curriculum expectations and class/school procedures for the 2011-2012 school year. We are thrilled to announce that our Superintendant, Mr. Keoughan, and our new Director of Education, Mr. Clark will be attending our Open House. We will be electing new members to our PSSC and our Home & School Association.
Rexton Elementary will be hosting its first Home & School next Thursday, September 22 from 6:30-7:30. We encourage all RES parents to join us for this very important meeting!
This Friday, September 16th Rexton Elementary will be having a 'Hat Day for the Horn of Africa' in support of the millions of children in Africa who are struggling to survive a severe drought. We encourage all RES students/staff to wear their favorite hat (ball cap, beach hat, crown/tiara, etc.) to school on Friday and donate $1 towards the starving children of Africa. The Canadian government will match all donations made up to September 16th. Please follow the link or read the information below for more details.
With the first week of school behind us, I would like to take the time to welcome all parents and students back for another year.The vital role of parents, guardians and families in the education of their children cannot be underestimated. The support you provide to your children and their school helps create a positive culture which contributes to the success of every student.
Monday, September 19th is a Minister's Exemption Day in District 16 and teachers will be involved in meetings. Therefore, there will be no school for Rexton Elementary School students on this day.
Grade 3 students will nominate and vote for a grade 3 student to fill the role of RES' Student Council Secretary.
Grade 4 students will nominate/vote for a grade 4 students to fill the role of RES' Student Council Vice-President.
Grade 5 students will nominate/vote for a grade 5 student to fill the role of RES' Student Council President.
