Kindergarten registration will take place at Rexton Elementary from October 15th to 18th for children who will turn 5 by December 31, 2014 and who start school in September 2014. Register your child for Kindergarten this October and receive information and invitations to be part of activities to support your child’s learning.
RES Grade 4 student, Jason Duplessis, won a Crystal Palace bracelet last week for returning his completed Student Information form to his teacher ~ congratulations Jason!! We encourage all RES students to have their parents complete and return their blue Student Information forms to their classroom teacher as soon as possible.
On Thursday, September 19th, RES hosted its annual Open House and Ice-Cream Social. We want to thank all of the families who came out on such a beautiful, late-summer afternoon to kick-off the 2013-2014 school year! Congratulations to the two RES students who won a $25 Chapter's gift certificate: Sydney Millier (5R) and Emma Robichaud (5R).
Rexton Elementary School is seeking community volunteers to assist with literacy for Grade 2 students. We are preparing to
implement a program called “ELF”. To quote from the organization's brochure:
“Elementary Literacy
Friends (ELF) is a volunteer-based tutoring program that helps Grade 2 students
who are struggling with literacy. ELF
provides training, materials, feedback and all of the support necessary for the
tutor to make a positive, lifelong impact not just on an individual child, but
on how that child will contribute to society throughout his or her life.”

All students and their parents/guardians are invited to attend RES' 2013 OPEN HOUSE which will be held on Thursday, September 19th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. The event is a great opportunity to meet your child's teacher, enjoy a yummy ice-cream treat, and purhase your RES Home & School membership. Families who attend this event will have an opportunity to win our door prize of a family movie pass; we will also be providing live musical entertainment, free face-painting, and a clown will be joining us for this event!
