WEEK #3: Drinks – Keeping Lunch Healthy Dietitians of Canada recommends: Children 1 to 8 years old get 6 cups of fluid per day. 9 to 13 years old girls should get between 8-9 cups per day. 9 to 13 year old boys should get between 10-13 cups per day. Tori Wry was the Canadian Trivia Question winner today! Tori knew that the name of our province was New Brunswick. Kiera Savory was our K-2 Canadian Trivia Question winner today! Kiera knew that the Canadian coin that has a picture of a beaver on it is called the nickel. Congratulations to all of this week's Canadian Trivia Question participants AND Happy Flag Day everyone!!

Friday, January 25th was RES' Jersey Day at Rexton Elementary School. Students who wore their favorite jersey to school were ask to donate $1 to support the Student Council's efforts to purchase entertaining books for the Sandy Hook Elementary School. Many thanks to the students,parents, and staff for supporting this very worthwhile fundraiser!

WEEK #2 (Feb.11 to 15): Making a Healthy Lunch Fun! Fun in Preparation. Let children help make their own lunch. Children can also help with grocery shopping and suggestions for lunch items. Include stickers, notes or cartoons in lunch box to brighten up their day! Convenience Foods. Convenience lunch packs (ie. Lunchables) are easy but they may be high in fat, sugar and salt. So why not make your own. Jazz up your children’s homemade lunch pack with colourful packages, or lunch bags to make it fun.
