Rexton Elementary School will be hosting its Walk-A-Thon for the Roots of Empathy program on Tuesday, May 8th at noon recess. This fundraiser has resulted in RES raising over $1100 for the Roots of Empathy program! A sincere thank-you is extend to all who supported our young students in this very important fundraiser.
Parents of students who are currently in grade 2 or grade 5 are reminded that the deadline to register your child for the French Immersion program for the 2012-2013 school year is this Friday, May 4th. Please call the school for more details @ 523-7152.
There will be no school for RES students on Thursday, May 3rd or Friday, May 4th because teachers will be participating in their NBTA and Subject Council Days. We wish our students and their families a wonderful long weekend!
The Miramichi Kinsmen and School District 16 are pleased to
accept film entries for the second annual Kin Film Festival. All School
District 16 students are invited to participate. Films can be submitted
in one of two categories: Open and The Kinsmen Category (The Communities Greatest Need). The top 10
films in each category will be screened on May 12th, 2012 at Miramichi
Empire Studio 5. Cash prizes of $500, $250 and $100 will be awarded for
the winners in each category.
All District 16 educators will be attending their Curriculum Implementation Day meetings this Friday, April 20th; therefore, there will be no school for RES students on Friday, April 20th. Have a great long weekend everyone!
All students and staff are asked to bring their favorite teddy bear (or stuffed animal) to school on Tuesday, April 10th for RES' annual Teddy Bear Day. All bears need to wear a name tag and are invited to have a sleepover at our school on Tuesday, April 10th. A reminder that there will be no school for this year's Kindergarten students on Wednesday, April 11th because our teachers will be hosting next year's Kindergarten students during our annual Teddy Bear Picnic.
