The Kent Food Security Network would like to know if you want to be a part of a food purchasing club that helps families and individuals have year round access to fresh fruit and vegetables at affordable prices.
Fruit and vegetables contain essential nutrients necessary to help prevent disease and maintain good health. Our goal is to help our community members meet those daily nutritional needs.
Club members pay at the beginning of each month they wish to receive a produce box, usually $15-$20. We pool the funds received and purchase fresh fruit and vegetables, locally whenever possible, at wholesale, discount prices.
Orders may vary month to month depending on what’s in season but the base order remains the same each month; potatoes, carrots, onions, bananas, apples and oranges.
This program will assist individuals living in and around Rexton, Richibucto, St. Charles, St. Ignace, the Upriver area, St. Anne, etc. If you are interested in participating in this food purchasing club please contact Joanne Roy, Kent Food Security Network Coordinator at 523-1239 or kcfscsak@live.com
