RES Grade 5 (and some Grade 4) students visited the 100 Years of Loss Exhibit on April 26, 2017 at EWG School. The exhibit taught the students about the history of residential schools in Canada. Here are some of the students' thoughts and reactions after seeing this exhibit:
"It made me feel sad and shoked about all the things they did to those kids. I would never want to not be able to talk to my brother," Gracie.
"This presentation made me feel fortunate because I don't have to go to a school like that. It also made me feel sad because of all those poor children that went there," Naomi.
"Residential schools were like a living nightmare. Over 24% of kids that went to residential schools died! That is sad to imagine," Wyatt.
